The Post
Stirling Law School wishes to appoint a suitably qualified Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor (Grade 9 – Teaching & Research) in Environmental Law and Delict. The successful candidate will be a key member of a researched focussed law school and the post carries the opportunity to further enhance an existing research profile, a record of grant capture and PhD supervision and evidence of innovative teaching. Environmental Law is central to our growing undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes in the Law School, including in our international joint programme partnerships. The successful candidate will assist other colleagues in impact and grant capture as well as pursuing their existing relationships or cultivating new ones. They will contribute to a world-leading team of scholars in this field. The main responsibilities are to: teach and supervise postgraduate and undergraduate students; pursue research in the field of Environmental Law; and, undertake academic leadership administrative duties as appropriate to this level of appointment.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
(a) coordinating and delivering specialist modules and dissertation supervision in the LLB/BA (Hons) programmes and contributing to the LLM International Energy and Environmental Law;
(b) delivering the LLB/BA Law module in Delict;
(c) contributing to, and leading, research and impact activity in environment and energy Law.
The post is research active, which requires the production and publication of high quality work and the contribution to ongoing bids for research funding, including interdisciplinary research with global partners. The successful candidate will be a member of a wider collaborative community across the University, contributing to interdisciplinary research and teaching with real world impact.

Established track record of high quality published research
Evidence of success in attracting research grants/external funding and delivering on externally funded research projects
Experience of supervising dissertation projects across the range of undergraduate/ postgraduate and of supervising doctoral students
Experience of providing high quality teaching across a range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level preferably including online/digital programmes
Proven experience of programme leadership including experience of designing and delivering course modules
Experience of providing academic leadership and of successful co-ordination, support, supervision, management and/or mentoring of others
Evidence or knowledge to support international activities
Associate Professor
Qualifications
PhD in relevant discipline
Higher Education teaching qualification or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
A track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals to levels of outstanding international excellence and a strong REF profile
A record of securing research grants / external funding and delivering on research projects
A significant record of attracting and supervising research students
Experience of delivering high quality, inspirational and motivational teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels preferably including online/digital programmes
Extensive knowledge of issues and challenges facing universities in such areas as curriculum design, course assessment, quality assurance, enhanced student experience and unregulated income generation
Demonstrated academic leadership in research and teaching and learning
Evidence of developing internal and external networks with the ability to instigate activity
